We have been busy welcoming an extremely talented slate of individuals who, in a very short time, have already impacted the agency in meaningful ways. Please join us in congratulating the newest members of the SimpsonScarborough team, and learn more about their roles below.
After 10+ years of working in finance, Dana Anthony decided it was time for a career change, and joins us as Account Executive. She supports the Accounts division by assisting the account directors in growing client relationships and managing integrated projects that involve market research, brand strategy, creative, digital, and media.
Wanting to do something that she felt was meaningful, she returned to higher education to complete her undergraduate and graduate degrees in communications. Dana worked directly with the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs in the U.S. State Department for her thesis research, which focused on uncovering why students of color did not participate in study abroad programs. From this research, she created a recruitment model for industries seeking to increase diversity. More recently, she served as a research associate at a communications agency that sought to apply her research data and tools to their current study.
Dana lives in Raleigh, NC with her husband and two children (a teenage son and a young adult daughter). When she's not working, you can catch her making a "quick" Target run, which really means she's going to Ross, TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, Kohl's, Wegmans, and then Target. Otherwise, she enjoys binge-watching Netflix with her family or hiding from them with a book and a snack in the closet.
Kevin Beach steps into our newly created role of Research Quality and Compliance Manager. He supports the agency in areas concerning survey link development and quality assurance, fieldwork execution and management, risk mitigation and solution management, and adherence to application regulations. He also has a hand in process development and innovation to help guide workflow efficiencies.
Kevin started his professional journey as a project coordinator, in which he successfully distributed election day exit poll surveys throughout the country during the 2008-2012 election cycles. In his most recent position as a compliance and quality manager, he developed and launched new internal processes and, among other responsibilities, worked with colleagues to ensure adherence to applicable regulations and industry standards.
Born and raised in central New Jersey, Kevin mainly enjoys spending his free time with his family. He also enjoys long distance running, photography, anything involving a beach, exploring new places and cultures, and reading up on current events.
Seth Meranda joins the agency as our newest Account Director. He finds the unique, creative, and impactful strategies that serve the best interests of our clients. Prior to joining us, Seth served as the Senior Director of Marketing & Communications at Concordia University, Nebraska. He oversaw a team that championed the positioning of the University's brand, and lead messaging for both enrollment and fundraising.
Seth holds a B.S. in Business Administration from University of Nebraska - Lincoln, and an MBA from Concordia University Nebraska. He lives in Lincoln, NE with his wife, four kids, and three dogs — he says his house is never quiet, and we believe him.
Amber Koski is our new Senior Designer. She works to craft and execute graphics, animations, and presentations for our higher ed clients. Her education experience is in visual communication and fashion design — a memorable part of her community college experience was having personal relationships with all of her professors. Amber’s past positions have been in both print and digital spaces; she shares that while she’s great at adhering to brand guidelines, her skillset really shines when she has the chance to give brands a facelift and prides herself in making her work “intentionally pretty.”
Amber resides in Dayton, OH with her partner and two dogs, Sunny and Stella. Outside of work, you can find her antiquing and starting more creative projects than she can handle. You can check out Amber’s amazing work on our National Student Survey report, available now (download it here).
Danielle Greenridge joins us as our first Director of People and Culture. In this role, Danielle will lead a growing Human Resources department and build upon current HR practices and procedures to meet the evolving needs of our agency. She holds a B.S. in Human Resources Management from Colorado State University, and has over 12 years of HR experience, specifically in talent acquisition, talent management, and employee engagement and culture.
Originally from St. Thomas Virgin Islands, Danielle now lives in Raleigh, NC with her husband and son. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her family at museums and outside (when the weather is nice!).
Say hello to Lauren Azevedo, who joins us as Account Executive. Lauren will be supporting the agency’s accounts division in managing and growing client relationships. She comes to us from Arizona State University’s internal Brand Strategy and Management, and Enterprise Marketing Hub teams. She also received both her B.A. and M.A. from Arizona State University.
Lauren shares that she received an education with minimal personal debt via the GI Bill and employee in-state tuition waivers. While she was able to benefit through these financial assistance systems, she also witnessed the inconsistent opportunities available to others. She hopes to contribute to increased equity and diversity in higher education through inclusive marketing and communication with historically underserved communities, and consequently in the future success and advancement of students.
If you’re interested in chatting about mid-century modern furniture and clothing, illustration and stop-motion animation, zero-waste living, or Australian Cattle dogs and how they have too much energy (so why would you have 3 of them??), please reach out to Lauren.
SimpsonScarborough’s newest Senior Creative Project Manager is Torre Mower. Torre will oversee project and timeline management of one of our creative studios. She graduated with a B.F.A. in Studio Arts with a textile design concentration from East Carolina University.
Torre would not be who she is today without her higher education experience. From discovering her love for the creative space to forging impactful relationships outside of the classroom, higher education provided the space and freedom for Torre to start finding herself. She describes herself as a life-long learner to this day, she's just grateful there are no unexpected pop-quizzes.
Torre split her time growing up between Chicago and Charlotte, and has called Charlotte home ever since she graduated from East Carolina University. She is married to Justin, a true creative and has a toddler named Lincoln. They adopted two kittens in May, Comet and Cupid, and they will surely be seen in most Zoom calls. When not working, Torre is most likely on a walk with her friends, reading a book, or going out to dinner with Justin and Lincoln.
