Stony Brook University Announces Capital Campaign

When we launched our creative division nearly a year ago, we did so with the earnest belief that our work could have a profound impact for our clients. We knew that we could translate research insight into meaningful marketing strategies and compelling creative work that would make our clients proud.

Stony Brook University, a member of the AAU located in Long Island and part of the State University of New York System (SUNY), was our first creative client. Having completed an in-depth market research project at Stony Brook, our clients there trusted SimpsonScarborough’s team to develop a marketing strategy that would allow the University to continue to enhance its already extraordinary record of achievement.

The first public expressions of the new brand came to life with the public launch of the seven-year, $600 million Campaign for Stony Brook. The largest fundraising effort in SUNY history, the campaign launched on November 21. The campaign website and film capture the youth and momentum of the University, featuring staff, faculty, and students, and their ongoing work that impacts the world. From being a driver of social mobility to discoveries at Centre ValBio in Madagascar to groundbreaking work at Brookhaven National Lab to the commitment of Stony Brook Medicine and its vast medical network, the Stony Brook community goes FAR BEYOND the expected.

SimpsonScarborough has worked hand-in-hand with Stony Brook to establish and build a dynamic brand culture that will continue to empower the tremendous Stony Brook community. Building on the historic campaign launch, the brand rollout will be equally ambitious and include new brand standards, on-campus launch strategies, advertising, a new .edu site, magazine, and much more.

We’re excited to share this work and the amazing things going on at Stony Brook! To learn more and view the film, visit www.stonybrook.edu/campaign and http://www.stonybrook.edu/campaign/the-campaign-for-stony-brook-video/.
